The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde

Jack Worthing loves glamorous Gwendolyn Fairfax however he has a secret: his double life as “Ernest Worthing.” His buddy, Algernon Moncrieff, finds his secret and adopts the personality of “Earnest” to woo his pal Jack’s ward Cecily Cardew. What follows is an onslaught of uproarious mistakes seasoned by the wittiest discussion, not to mention tea and muffins. Oscar Wilde’s gleaming funny teaches us all the value of being Earnest.

Worry. Anxiety. Jealousy. Witchcraft. Arthur Miller’s searing 1953 commentary on McCarthysim concentrates on the village of Salem, Massachusetts, in the 1690s. A series of bad luck, indiscretions, and local ladies dancing “devilishly” in the woods result in the notorious Salem witch trials. This traditional American drama explores exactly what occurs when a community turns versus its own individuals.

Shakespeare’s hilariously wise and hot comedy shows the hard work of accomplishing love while maturing.

The African Business Provides “Richard III” by Carlyle Brown

New York. 1821. America’s first black theater business, the African Business, provides classic plays at a theater in downtown Manhattan for both black and white audiences. However they are challenged when they attempt to put on Shakespeare’s Richard III at the exact same time as the powerful and popular Park Theatre. Carlyle Brown’s amusing and touching play, based upon real-life events, attempts to ask the concern: does Shakespeare come from everyone?

Through the lyrically haunting landscape of poet Federico García Lorca’s moon-soaked imagination, we see the penalties and the satisfaction of rebelling against the status quo.

Will she need to transform herself or will she hold on to her authentic Elle self? One thing’s for sure: Harvard Law will never ever be the very same.
