Woman shoots her kidnapper to death when they pull over for gas

STARR, South Carolina ( FOX Carolina/ Meredith)– A male was shot to death at a gas station in South Carolina by his ex-girlfriend who he had actually kidnapped, according to the Anderson County Coroner’s Workplace. Coroner Greg Shore tells Fox Carolina that Rodney Nixon, 36, of Anderson, South Carolina broke into his ex-girlfriend’s house. Nixon allegedly attacked a man inside your home prior to kidnapping the lady.

Nixon and the victim were taking a trip in a vehicle, with the victim driving and Nixon presumably holding a weapon to her. When the automobile began running out of gas, they stopped at a Marathon gasoline station on Highway 29 South.

Nixon got out of the vehicle to pump gas, and the victim was able to get the gun away from him. She then shot him in the chest while he was pumping gas, killing him.

The Anderson County Constable’s Office then received a call regarding a shooting event at the Marathon Filling station. The coroner was dispatched after Nixon was discovered dead at the scene.

After an autopsy, the coroner determined the man as Nixon.

The male who Nixon attacked inside the house before kidnapping the female was required to a medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries.

Nobody else was harmed.

The case is still an active investigation. Nixon’s death has actually been ruled a murder, but the solicitor will have to identify if the fatal shooting was justified.
